A few words about printmaking

I think I’ll post a few pictures of me pulling prints — it’s self-interested: it’s that conversation that starts out “So, what do you do?” I have so many possible answers, but when I’m my own straight-man, I say I’m a printmaker and then I wait for it. “???” Yep, I’m a printmaker. It’s like a giant rubber stamp, only different. I heard that a picture is worth a thousand words, I don’t know if the Consumer Price Index has adjusted that ratio since 1930 or not, but in the interest of economy, I invite you to feast your eyes on the printmaking process.

Really: it’s like a giant rubber stamp, once you get past having an idea, executing it, inking it, pulling it and the massive clean up effort. And yes, it’s also really necessary: no one else is doing this, so I have to! I didn’t invent the process, and I’m not going to talk about my short-comings, but someone, SOMEONE has to do this, I tell you!
